Option 2: Buy an Existing School

Buying an existing school is a great option if you have the financial means. This option allows you to take over an existing school with (hopefully) existing students. It is the simplest way to get a school up and running. However, finding a school that meets your criteria and budget can be challenging. Typically, schools with enrolled students and accreditation start in the $800,000+ range and can go as high as $30 million+ depending on the school. This process typically takes under 6 months depending on how fast you find a school to buy, negotiate the terms and finalize the closing.

Option 3: Purchase a Start-Up School

Purchasing a Start-Up School is a great way to, not only get a school up and running quickly, but do so without breaking the bank. A Start-Up School is a school that is ready to launch, but does not yet have enrolled students. It has all of the components of a school ready to go (like a school in a box), but can also be customized to meet your needs. This type of school blends the Do It Yourself model with the purchase of an existing school. This brand of school also won’t break the bank as it only costs about $100,000 vs the $800,000 for an existing school. This process typically takes between 30-90 days depending on the customization.
